WE’RE SENDING THE BEHEMOTHS HOME!

Those 30,000, 40,000 and 60,000 pound vibratory drivers that we were bragging about to you just a few months ago (with good reason, as they were busy driving 5’to 10’ diameter caissons to depths of 200’or more) have been most recently sitting in our East Providence yard. Feeding sitting behemoths is a costly proposition, so we’ve decided to send them packing to their homeland until the next need arises. We thought it best to inform you, just in case you thought you could just drive by and pick one up. We’ll need some lead time if you find yourself in need of a behemoth.

However, the 2,000 to 20,000 pound vibratorys, the baby behemoths, have been doing anything but sitting! With eccentric moments of from 400 to 4400 inch pounds, driving sheeting (vinyl, composite or steel), H beams, pipe and woodpile, or caissons, these units have been busy all over New England. We attribute it mainly to the fact that we’re centrally located to New England needs, only an hour from Connecticut and Massachusetts, and less than two hours from Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Also the fact that we have eight servicemen and well over a million dollars worth of parts in stock to back up these baby behemoths, again within easy striking distance of your workplace, accounts greatly to their popularity. Again, if you have the need we’d appreciate any lead time you can afford.

Behemoths come in all shapes, not just vibratory drivers. Impact hammers weighing up to 46000 pounds (22000lb ram with a 10’ram stroke) are also available from the factory. But the baby behemoth impact hammers that we keep here in East Providence, with manufacturer’s rated energys of from 7000 to 75,900 foot pounds (hydraulic and diesel) are again within an hour or two from your workplace. The hydraulic can be operated free-hanging or lead-mounted, with stroke adjustable from the remote control; the diesel are direct drive, with no drive cap to contend with, allowing more energy into the pile.

Okay, enough already about behemoths! Basically what we wanted to impart was the fact that if you had a need of a monster-sized behemoth we’d likely have to bring it in from the factory. If you have need of an everyday-sized behemoth (vibratory driver or impact hammer) we’d likely have it right here, a few hours from your jobsite. Hope we can be of service soon.

HEY, WHAT’S GOING ON WITH YOU GUYS?

I’ve been writing to most of you for well over twenty years now, and not once have you written to me. Don’t you think it’s time you responded? Come to think of it, most of you have responded, though not in letter form. A few have requested that we remove their names from our mailing list, and a goodly number have responded with a purchase or rental order of some sort. To that goodly number I’d like to say “Thank You” for your business over the years. To the rest of you I’d like to say…

HEY, WHAT’S GOING ON WITH YOU GUYS?

And just in case you’re wondering WHAT’S GOING ON WITH US GUYS, we thought we’d share some information with you regarding the two market places we’re involved in, namely NEW ENGLAND and POINTS BEYOND.

NEW ENGLANDVibratory drivers continue to be our most popular rental tool, with 16 units presently in our rental fleet. Whether you’re driving sheeting, H beams, pipe pile or caissons, we feel we have a size for your every need. With models weighing anywhere from 1 to 30 ton, and eccentric moments of from 300 to 15,600 inch pounds, these vibratory drivers are available right here in our yard in East Providence; available for long or short term rental, or purchase. Excavator mounted units are our latest addition to the vibratory rental fleet.

Also in NEW ENGLANDImpact hammers are our next most popular rental item, with 10 units presently in our rental fleet, ranging in energy ratings from 4000 to 76,000 foot pounds. Hydraulic, diesel and air hammers, some outfitted to be free hung to drive sheet, H and pipe pile; others to be lead mounted to drive H and pipe pile on a production basis.

And speaking of NEW ENGLAND...Not only are the above tools to be found locally, but centrally located in our yard in East Providence, only an hour from Connecticut and Massachusetts, and less than two hours from Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Best of all, our service and parts departments are just as conveniently located, with 8 servicemen and a full stock of parts to keep your projects on schedule, within a few hours of your workplace.

Now in POINTS BEYOND…That’s where WHAT’S GOING ON WITH US GUYS has really taken off. Thanks to the SOILMEC line of drilling equipment AE&F has evolved over the last fifteen years from supplying principally driving equipment to principally drilling equipment. And as in every evolution the stronger of the species survives and multiplies, so with SOILMEC. At present over 250 of their crawler mounted hydraulic rotary drill rigs have been sold in North America since we first took on the line in 1990, sending our people from the Atlantic to the Pacific to install and service these self-erecting hydraulic drilling machines with torques of from 70,000 to 345,000 foot pounds, allowing for shaft diameters up to 10 feet and drilling depths of up to 250 feet.

Also in POINTS BEYOND, as well as in NEW ENGLAND, the P.T.C. line of vibratory drivers, in particular the 30, 40 and 60 ton units (6500, 10500 and 15600 inch pounds of eccentric moment) have been driving 5’to 10’ diameter caissons to depths up to 200’.Despite the plethora of drill rigs across the country it sometimes makes more sense (is more profitable) to drive these shafts than to drill them. Smaller shafts, as well as sheeting and H piling, have been driven most successfully with the 9 ton P.T.C. Again, these models are all located here in East Providence, a short hop from your NEW ENGLAND jobsites and a hop, skip and jump (one or two truck loads) to your projects in POINTS BEYOND.

One last note (again, to both NEW ENGLAND and POINTS BEYOND) addressed to drilling contractors…CETCO’s SHORE PAC stabilizing polymer, used to keep your drilled shafts open in the most difficult soil conditions, is stocked here in East Providence, and technical assistance in its use, as well as the use of specialty additives, is only a phone call away.

So, WHATS GOING ON WITH YOU GUYS? Whatever it is, hope we can be of service…especially since we’re so close to your jobsite!

Hope to hear from you soon,
John A. Sheerin
Sales Manager
